- UPDATING YOUR DP10
- To update your DP 10, click on the gear icon on the top right of the screen. Next, select admin and enter the password associated with your device. On the next screen, choose the check for updates icon. This will enable comms on your device. Once comms are enabled and you are connected to wifi or your local ethernet, your software will check for update and will notify you if one is available. *We update monthly so please check for updates regularly.
- DP10 / DP DESKTOP NOT ACQUIRING FROM iOS DEVICE
- If you are having trouble acquiring data from an iOS device, please make sure that your DP10 or DP Desktop software is updated to our newest software version. This will ensure proper communication between the software and the iOS device, if that device has been updated to the latest iOS version. We update monthly to ensure that we are compatible with even the newest Apple phones and software versions.
- HOW TO ENABLE USB DEBUGGING ON ANDROID DEVICES
Note: On some devices, the Developer options screen might be located or named differently.
- On your device, find the Build number The following table shows the settings location of the Build number on various devices:

- Tap the Build Number option seven times until you see the message You are now a developer! This enables developer options on your device.
- Return to the previous screen to find Developer options at the bottom.
- At the top of the Developer options screen, you can toggle the options on and off, as shown in figure 1. Keep this on. When off, most options are disabled except those that don’t require communication between the device and your development computer.
Enable USB debugging on your device
Before you can use the debugger and other tools, you need to enable USB debugging, which allows Android Studio and other SDK tools to recognize your device when connected via USB.
Enable USB debugging in the device system settings under Developer options. You can find this option in one of the following locations, depending on your Android version:
- Android 9 (API level 28) and higher: Settings > System > Advanced > Developer Options > USB debugging
- Android 8.0.0 (API level 26) and Android 8.1.0 (API level 27): Settings > System > Developer Options > USB debugging
- Android 7.1 (API level 25) and lower: Settings > Developer Options > USB debugging
- HOW TO USE OUR HDMI ACQUISITION FEATURE:
- *Newer iOS and Android devices require this method to utilize our link-screen acquisition capability.
- This new feature makes it possible to link up and preserve evidence from a variety of digital devices using their HDMI output. You must first have our Techno Cable Kit which includes the necessary cables (HDMI, iOS, USB-C). Please watch the video below on how to utilize this new feature.
